Founders Award nomination guidance
We are delighted that you would like to nominate a fellow Member for a Founder's Award. Here, we set out how you should approach the form.
Nominations can be submitted in either a written or audio format. Whichever format you choose, it should be clear and concise and adhere to the following structure and content.
If written, it's helpful if you can break your nomination up into several paragraphs for ease of reading.
Introduction
This should introduce the nominee, your relationship, how long they have been a Member or associated with Blind Veterans UK, their community, and outline what specifically they have been nominated for and why.
Word count: 100 words
Reason for your nomination
You need to provide evidence to support your nomination and give a few examples. Try to remain specific to the award category, rather than adding examples that are not applicable. If you have multiple examples that you feel fit another category, write an additional nomination.
You cannot submit the same nomination into more than one award category.
The following is a good example:
Joe Bloggs is an extremely talented athlete and previously played football at county level before losing his sight. Since then, he has dedicated himself to re-learning old skills whilst demonstrating his ability to adapt to a new game.
Passionate and driven, Joe continuously encourages other Members to participate to improve their physical fitness and tackle social isolation. He has even applied himself to achieve an FA Level 2 Coaching Award, and now regularly leads sessions across the Region and captains his local Blind Football Club.

Conclusion
It's good to end by providing insight into your nominee's personal qualities, attributes and values. It's useful to conclude with their future aspirations as consistent with the award category.
